Hello,
and welcome to Wild Ohio Whitetail Outfitters. My name is Dave Flora and
I am the owner and operator of Wild Ohio Whitetail Outfitters. We are
a new outfitter and we are located in Hocking County about one hour southeast
of Columbus in Southeastern Ohio. After a couple years of discussion,
we finally made the tough decision to open our area to the public. We
have approximately 1000 acres of private property which we have managed
and hunted for 15 years.
I am
a strong believer in deer management and have been a member of Quality
Deer Management Association for more than a decade. I am also a member
of the National Wild Turkey Federation and I have worked extensively with
the State of Ohio to improve both the wildlife habitat and the timber
stand on our property. My philosophy is to give back more than I take.
Our hunting area is
primarily hardwoods consisting of White Oak, Red Oak, Beech, Hickory,
Cherry and Poplar. We have approximately 35 acres that was clear cut in
2005 (A Real Deer Magnet) and an additional 15 acres in food plots consisting
of Imperial Whitetail Clover, Imperial Chicory, Imperial No Plow, Imperial
Secret Spot, Tecomate Monster Mix and Sorghum. We also have several feeders
and mineral licks through out our area.
Our
hunting is all fair chase and we specialize in bow hunting,
however, we do offer muzzleloader hunts. Between my guides and myself,
we have well over a century of experience.
We are taking just
16 hunters total for 2007 and we will only be hunting the rut. These are
guided hunts and we offer both ladder and lock on tree stands averaging
in height from 17' to 26' or we can put you in a ground blind if you prefer
the ground. Our guides will get you to and from your stand, help you track
your deer, field dress and cape your trophy. We also have a processor
and taxidermist available.
Pre-Season Scouting
Trip
If
you book with us, I will invite you to come to our camp in late July,
August or September to see what you will be hunting. During the scouting
trip, we will allow you to stay at our cabin at a low cost of $100
for a two day stay and we will show you where and what you will be
hunting in the fall. If you don't like what you see, we will give
you back your deposit. We are that confident about our area.
Bow Hunters
You
need to be in good shape and scent control is a must.
I strongly recommend 16" Rubber Boots, Scent
Lock Suites and Scent Free Soap plus Scent Killer.

If you expect to kill a mature buck you can't smell.
No cigarettes, chewing tobacco or snuff in the stands.
A 50%
non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, we will accept
checks, money orders or certified checks. The balance is due by September
1st, 2008 unless you have made arrangements with us to pay upon arrival.
We will accept no personal checks to pay for balances. Cash, money order
or certified checks only.
If a buck is wounded the
hunter has two options. They can stop hunting for a buck or they can
pay a $300 dollar management fee and continue to hunt for a buck

We have a 900 Sq Ft cabin
available that will sleep 4 hunters comfortably. It offers 2 Bedrooms,
1 Bath, Kitchen, Living Room and a Loft. The kitchen is equipped with
all cooking utensils, refrigerator, stove, sink and microwave. You
do your own cooking. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow and bath towels.
Logan is 15 minutes away and offers both hotels and restaurants if
you prefer to stay in town. The Cabin rents for $1,000 per week for
up to 4 hunters. If you are flying in, we can pick you up and drop
you off at the Columbus International Airport. We have all the vehicles
needed including 4-runners.
