Wild Ohio Whitetail Outfitters

Hello and welcome to Wild Ohio Whitetail Outfitters.  My name is Dave Flora and the owner and operator of WOW.

We are located an hour southeast of Columbus in Hocking County which is tucked away in the Appalachian foothills.  The New York Times said this about the Hocking Hills region:

Tucked away in Ohio’s southeast corner,…lies a protected pocket the glaciers never bullied.  A densely-wooded region of rugged slopes and cool hollows,spring fed creeks,cascading waterfalls… known as Hocking Hills. 

We began operation in 1996 with approximately 1000 acres and continue to grow a little each year.  We are fortunate now to have more than 1600 acres,most of it being contiguous,which allows us to effectively manage our deer herd and our wildlife habitat.  After a couple of discussions,my friends and I made a tough decision:  to open our area to the public.

I am a strong believer in deer management and in conservation and have been a member of the Quality Deer Management Association for nearly 2 decades.  I am also a member if the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Farm Bureau.  I have worked extensive ly with the state of Ohio,The Hocking County Soil Conservation District and the US Department of Agriculture to improve the wildlife,wildlife habitat and the timber stands on our properties.

It is my philosophy to be a good steward of the land and to give back more than I take.
